Our approach
SHHHHHHH takes anonymous conversation seriously, which means safety has to be built in, not bolted on. Every conversation has tools to keep it healthy, and every report is reviewed.
Blocking
Either participant can block a conversation at any time from the chat menu. After blocking, no new messages can be sent by either participant. Existing messages remain visible unless removed by moderation.
Reporting
You can report a conversation for:
- Harassment
- Threats
- Sexual content
- Hate speech / abuse
- Spam
- Impersonation
- Other
Your identity as the reporter is never shared with the reported participant. Our team reviews open reports and can remove messages, block participants, close conversations, or ban accounts.
Rate limits
To reduce spam and abuse, we apply rate limits to chat creation, joining, messaging, login, signup, and reporting.
Identity reveal
Revealing yourself is always a deliberate, voluntary action. It is never triggered automatically, and we never reveal one participant to the other without that participant's explicit action.
